Man fishing in the sunsetAre you an amazing angler or a fishing fanatic? If so, Park Place on the River is the place to be! Our condos in Gatlinburg are located right along the Little Pigeon River, one of the best fishing spots in the Great Smoky Mountains. When you stay with us, you’ll be steps away from a fisherman’s paradise.

Trout Fishing

The Little Pigeon River is maintained by the state of Tennessee and stocked weekly with rainbow trout in Gatlinburg. If you get lucky, you might land a trout 20 inches in length! Fly fishing is your best bet for catching trout. Find out what insect species is hatching at the time of your visit and try to use a lure that looks similar to that tasty bug. A local bait shop is a great place to do your research and pick up supplies.

Bass Fishing

In addition to trout, the Little Pigeon River is also home to panfish and smallmouth bass. If you’re looking to reel in a smallmouth, try fly fishing with wet or dry flies in deep pools downstream from rapids. Using soft plastic lures to imitate crayfish is a good strategy for catching larger bass.

Great Location

With its proximity to the Little Pigeon River, Park Place is the perfect place to spend your next fishing trip. Our condos in Gatlinburg come with balconies overlooking the river, so you’ll be able to scope out a great fishing spot right from your room!
